For the second consecutive week, Linfield College’s Karleigh Prestianni (Sr., Grants Pass, Ore.) has been named Northwest Conference Student-Athlete Position Player of the Week.
In games from the week of April 8-14, Prestianni hit three runs while batting .636 (7 for 11). She contributed five extra-base hits, six RBI, 18 total bases and drew four walks.
During the previous week, Prestianni hit .524 (11 for 21) with six extra-base hits, including two home runs. She totaled 21 total bases, drove in 12 runs and swiped three bases.
The senior third baseman leads the NWC in multiple categories, including slugging percentage (.852), on-base percentage (.554), RBI (52) and walks (27). Her .470 batting average ranks second in the NWC as does her 54 total hits.
Linfield (33-6), ranked seventh nationally, hosts the four-team NWC Tournament this weekend. The winner of the double-elimination tournament earns the NWC’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division III regional playoffs.
