BREMERTON, Wash. – After heavy rain continued to blanket the region, Sunday's second round of the Northwest Conference Spring Classic was called off, leaving Linfield in seventh place after the Day 1 scores were deemed final.
The Wildcats totaled 392 strokes, 70 behind first-place George Fox. The Bruins (322) won the eight-team tournament, outpacing Whitman (327) by just five strokes. Other team scores included: Willamette (344), Pacific (370), Pacific Lutheran (371), Whitworth (373), Linfield (392) and Puget Sound (434).
The NWC Spring Classic counts 25 percent toward determining the league champion. Taking into account a fifth-place finish at the NWC Fall Classic, Linfield sits in seventh place in the team standings with one final conference tournament - the NWC Championships - yet to be played. The third and final major event counts 50 percent toward the team standings.
COMING UP: The Wildcats compete in the Willamette Cup Sunday at Quail Valley.
