A sudden outbreak of food poisoning has caused cancellation of two Linfield College women’s basketball games, plus the postponement of two others.
The Wildcats were scheduled to play at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges tonight in the fourth game of a five-game swing through southern California. Linfield was then to have played a game Wednesday evening at Cal Tech.
Linfield's next two contests have also been postponed. The Wildcats were scheduled to host Northwest Conference foe Willamette on Nov. 27 and before travelling to Evergreen State on Nov. 29. Makeup dates for those games have yet to be determined.
As many as 14 squad members have been affected by the illness, including Wildcats’ head coach Robin Potera-Haskins.
Linfield certified athletic trainer Tara Lepp is providing aid to the squad and ensuring their safe and comfortable return to Oregon.
