TACOMA, Wash. – Jackie Harvey turned in a command performance to power 14th-ranked Puget Sound to a four-set Northwest Conference victory over Linfield Saturday night inside Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Loggers won the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-12, before the Wildcats rebounded for a 25-23 win in the third stanza. Linfield couldn’t force a deciding set, falling 25-19 in the fourth frame to end the match.
Harvey haunted Linfield to the tune of 21 kills and 16 digs, hitting .340 at the net.
The loss, Linfield’s fourth consecutive, dropped the Wildcats to 8-14 overall and 3-11 in the NWC. UPS, which remains in contention for the NWC title, elevated its record to 17-5 and 11-3 in conference action.
Puget Sound outhit Linfield .263 to .105 and outblocked the Wildcats by a 7-1 margin.
Kailana Ritte-Camara (Jr., Molokai, Hawaii) led Linfield with 13 kills, Leimomi Hookano and Kelsey Ludin (Sr., Bozeman, Mont.) each had seven kills, while setter Audrey Frazier (Jr., Albany, Ore.) totaled 36 assists, 13 digs and six service aces in a losing effort. Courtney Uyeda (Soph., Honolulu, Hawaii) led the back row with 26 digs while chipping in with three assists. Bethany Dickey contributed a dozen digs while Courtney Wanamaker (Jr., West Linn, Ore.) had 10.
COMING UP: The Wildcats are home for their final two contests of the 2012 campaign. Friday, the Wildcats welcome Whitman to Ted Wilson Gymnasium for a 7 p.m. match. Saturday, Linfield battles Whitworth in a match that starts at 5 p.m.
