Klopp swings his way to NWC Golfer of the Week honors
September 26, 2012

Sophomore Taylor Klopp (Soph., Eugene, Ore.) has been chosen as this week’s Northwest Conference Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week after his victory in this last weekend’s Boxer Classic. The honor was announced Tuesday by the league’s sports information directors.

Sitting one stroke back after day one of the competition, Klopp rallied on the second day, carding birdies three times to win the Classic with a one-under-par 143. This is the first time Klopp has medaled in his collegiate career.

“It means a lot to finally see the hard work pay off in terms of results and I can’t wait to keep it going the rest of the year.” Klopp said.

The Wildcats finished second in the Classic to Corban, losing in a two-hole playoff.

NEXT: Klopp and the Wildcats get back in action Thursday, playing in their own Linfield Invitational.
