CARY, N.C. – One of Linfield’s most decorated tennis players, Abby Olbrich competed in her final match Thursday morning at the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships, held at the Cary Tennis Center.
In a match that featured two regional senior players of the year, Laura Chen of Carnegie Melon toppled Olbrich by a score of 6-1, 6-3. It was Olbrich’s second consecutive first-round exit in the national singles tournament.
Linfield’s four-year conference all-star concludes her final season as a Wildcat with an 11-6 singles record. Over her four years, she compiled a 54-23 win-loss record. She graduates with the sixth-most career singles victories in program history and is tied for the fifth-most doubles victories (56).
