Linfield slugger Staci Doucette has been named Louisville Slugger National Division III Player of the Week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Assocation.

The three time All-America first baseman paced Linfield to six victories in California during the week of March 19-25, hitting .647 (11-for-17).

Among Doucette’s 11 hits, one went for a double and four more sailed out of the park for home runs. She scored six runs, drove home eight runs, drew five walks and had 24 total bases. For the week, she totaled a slugging percentage of 1.412, an on-base percentage of .727, and a spotless fielding percentage of 1.000 in 37 chances.

Top-ranked Linfield went 6-0 during the one-week evaluation period (8-0 overall on the California trip), including two wins over No. 13 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Doucette leads NCAA Division III with 12 home runs this spring and recently became the Division III career leader in home runs. Including all games to date, Doucette has 65 homers. The previous career record was 59.

In the most recent NCAA statistical report, she ranks third nationally in on-base percentage and fifth in batting average.

She was also recently honored as the Northwest Conference Hitter of the Week.

A career .488 hitter, Doucette is hitting .500 for the season with 78 total bases, 36 runs batted in and only three strikeouts in 94 plate appearances.

Linfield, the defending Division III national champion, is 24-2 overall. The Wildcats play doubleheaders Saturday at Puget Sound and Sunday at Pacific Lutheran.
