Loggers roll Wildcats

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Half a dozen goals each by Julie Schulman and Kristine Morris boosted Puget Sound to a resounding 23-9 victory over Linfield Sunday afternoon at the Linfield lacrosse field.

Puget Sound collected its first win of the season to improve to 1-2. Linfield slipped to 0-2.

Linfield jumped to a 3-0 lead in the opening minutes and led 5-2 at the midway point of the first half. That’s when the Loggers scored seven of the next eight goals to assume command.

UPS led 11-7 at the break, then put down the accelerator in the second half, outscoring the hosts 12-2.

Taylor Fisher and Chas Tittle (Soph., Mililani, Hawaii) had a pair of goals to pace the Wildcats. Fisher also assisted on three Linfield goals.

UPS outshot Linfield by 38-25 margin and scooped up 26 loose balls to Linfield’s 18.

Linfield goalkeeper Tori Kraft was credited with 11 saves.

NEXT: Linfield is idle for 10 days before hosting Pacific on Wednesday, March 12. Action that day starts at 6 p.m.
