McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Redlands came after Linfield in waves as six players scored multiple goals and the visiting Bulldogs kept their unbeaten record perfect with a 23-9 victory over the Wildcats Saturday at the Linfield lacrosse field.
Redlands (7-0) completed its tour of the Pacific Northwest with a resounding win over the Wildcats (0-1), who were playing their season-opening contest.
KK McCaslin led the way for Redlands with four goals, Chrystal Painter had three goals and two assists, and Megan Prickett tallied three scores and set up another. The Bulldogs unleashed 46 shots on Wildcats goalkeeper Tori Kraft.
Kraft, a sophomore, was making her debut in goal after playing last season on defense. She made 17 saves, many of the them using quick hands and her stick, but the ‘Dogs were just too relentless on offense for the young netminder.
Mariah Jones scored four goals while Taylor Fisher and Brittani Drost (Sr., Forest Grove, Ore.) each had a pair of scores.
Redlands scored the match’s first four goals before Linfield answered by bagging four of the next six tallies to pull within 8-4. That’s when the Bulldogs reeled off 11 unanswered goals to close the half. Redlands led 17-4 at intermission, though the match was much more even and defensive minded in the second half. Redlands outscored Linfield 6-5 after the break.
