Linfield third baseman Karleigh Prestianni (Sr., Grants Pass, Ore.) has been honored as the Northwest Conference Softball Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the league’s sports information directors.
Prestianni smacked five extra-base hits - three homers and two doubles - to lead the No. 1 Wildcats to six consecutive victories to open the 2012 season. She hit .579 (11-for-19) with a 1.158 slugging percentage and .652 on-base percentage while racking up five RBI and 16 total bases. Defensively, she registered a .933 fielding percentage in 15 opportunities at third base.
She currently ranks second in the league in batting average and tied for first in home runs.
Linfield defated NAIA opponent Concordia and NWC foe Whitworth by a combined score of 65-12.
