James Yen has been appointed interim women’s golf coach at Linfield College, director of athletics Scott Carnahan announced Tuesday.
Yen takes over leadership of the women’s program from Brian Trowbridge, who resigned to devote more time to his business interests.
Trowbridge had directed the program since the fall of 2010.
A 2002 Linfield graduate, Yen was a two-year letterwinner in football and has spent the past eight years as receivers coach for the Wildcats football team.
A permanent replacement will be determined after the conclusion of the current competitive season.
The Wildcats are in action this weekend when they host The Coast Open Saturday and Sunday at Sandpines Golf Links in Florence.
