SEATTLE, Wash. – Catherine Street outdid herself Sunday afternoon at the University of Washington Indoor Open, setting a new NCAA Division III indoor pole vault record at 13 feet, 9 ¼ inches (4.20 m).

Street, a three-time NCAA Championship qualifier and Northwest Conference champion, bested the previous record, set by Abigail Schaffer of Moravian at last year's national championship meet, by a full inch. She improved upon her personal previous best indoor mark by 4 ¼ inches. Her top outdoor performance stands at 13-7.

The senior defeated the event runner-up, the unattached Elizabeth Norvell, by more than one foot; Norvell cleared the bar at 12 feet, 8 inches.

Teammate Misty Corwin tied for ninth place with a mark of 11 feet, ¼ inch (3.36 m).

A total of 13 Linfield athletes competed at the meet, which featured both collegiate and club track and field programs, primarily representing the NCAA Division I level.
