October 02, 2011
Box Score

FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Haley Bedell and Kelsey Takashima each had 12 kills as the Boxers took advantage of their .239 attack percentage in their sweep of the Wildcats 3-0 at the Stoller Center on Saturday night.

Pacific (10-5) improves to 4-2 in Northwest Conference play while Linfield (7-8) drops to 2-4.

Despite a .250 attack percentage in the first set by Linfield, Pacific outmatched the 'Cats with 17 kills to Linfield's 13. That proved to be the difference in the set as Pacific won 25-21 to take a 1-0 lead in the game.

The 'Cats came out sluggish in the second set tallying only six kills in 38 attempts. Although the Boxers only converted 11 of their 35 attempts, it was enough to knock out Linfield 25-14 in the second set. The win gave the Boxers a 2-0 advantage heading into the third set.

With their backs against the ropes, Linfield unfortunately couldn't muster up enough steam to stay in the game as Pacific took the set 25-21 and the 3-0 sweep to send the Wildcats packing. Alexa Block added 10 kills to help the Boxers finish the game with 43 kills.

For the 'Cats, Audrey Frazier (Jr., Albany, Ore.) had 23 assists, Kelsey Ludin (Sr., Bozeman, Mont.) spiked seven kills, and Victoria Thompson (Jr., Newberg, Ore.) led the team with a .211 attack percentage in the match.

NEXT UP: The Wildcats return to action Friday, October 7th at 7 p.m.in Tacoma for a NWC match-up with Pacific Lutheran (12-3).
