BANKS, Ore. – Competing with five Northwest Conference opponents in their season-opening match, the Linfield Wildcats occupy fifth place after Day 1 of the seven-team Pacific Invitational at Quail Valley Golf Course.
Alexandria Smith (Sr., Bellingham, Wash.) shot the Wildcats’ best round of the day with a eight-over-par 80, good for a share of seventh place.
Hannah Christianson was four strokes back at 84 while Lydia Smith had an 89.
Linfield scored a team-total of 343, 27 strokes behind first-day leader George Fox. Whitworth (318), Whitman (330) and Willamette (340) all sit in front of Linfield after the opening 18 holes.
