McMINNVILLE, Ore. – For the first time in his career, Linfield's Scott Gage has been honored as the Northwest Conference Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the league’s sports information directors.

Gage crossed the finish line first at the Linfield-Lewis & Clark dual meet on Sept. 1, covering the eight-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 1 second. He staged a comeback over the last two kilometers of the race to top his own teammate by nine seconds.

His performance helped the Wildcat men defeat the Pioneers in the season-opening meet for both teams. Led by Gage, Linfield claimed the top four finishes and six of the top eight.
