Hurdus helps Linfield to third on Pumpkin Ridge course

Final Results

NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – With a two-round total of 654, George Fox ran away from the field on its way to the championship of the Pacific Spring Invitational Sunday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course. The defending NWC champion Bruins won by a whopping 49 strokes. Whitworth was second at 703, followed by Linfield (715), Pacific (767), and Puget Sound (822). Host Pacific did not field a complete team and did not register a score in the standings.

Kelsey Morrison of George Fox won first individually after posting a two round score of 153, 11 strokes better than runner-up Emily Guthrie of Whitworth, who scored 164.

Brynn Hurdus of Linfield finished in a tie for third with Brianna Nap of George Fox. They both finished the tournament with scores of 165.

Linfield’s Katie Kilborn finished 14th, shooting a 91 on both days of the tournament to end with a total of 182.

Brinn Hovde (Sr., Bellingham, Wash.), and Alexandria Smith (Jr., Bellingham, Wash.) finished off the scoring for Linfield, putting up scores of 189 and 190, respectively.

UP NEXT: The Wildcats compete Friday and Saturday at the NWC Championships at Columbia Point Golf Course.
