McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield’s K.C. Wiser can add another feather to his cap after being selected as an honorable mention All-American by DIII News.com.
In his final season as a Wildcat, Wiser led the Northwest Conference in scoring (23.1) and rebounding (8.2), posting career-high averages in both categories. He ranks No. 7 on the career scoring ladder at Linfield after racking up 1,568 points over his four years. His career scoring average (17.4) is the eighth-highest in school history.
This award is the latest in a series of postseason awards for the senior center. Wiser was a second team All-West Region honoree and was also named to 2011 all-NWC first team for the season year in a row. Throughout the regular season, he was chosen as the conference player of the week twice.
He is one of only two players from the Northwest Conference to be recognized by DIII News.com. Whitworth’s Michael Taylor, the league player of the year, was a second team selection. Steve Djurickovic of Carthage was chosen as the player of the year.
As a club, the Wildcat men’s basketball team finished seventh in the league with a 5-11 league record and 9-16 overall mark.
Wiser has switched gears this spring and is out for his fourth season with the Linfield baseball team, currently ranked ninth in the nation. In three appearances on the mound, he has a 4.15 ERA with four strikeouts and is holding opposing batters to a .278 batting average.
