McMINNVILLE, Ore. – For the second straight week, a Linfield baseball player has been named Northwest Conference Baseball Offensive/Field Student-Athlete of the Week. This time it is Tim Wilson (Jr., Redmond, Wash.) receiving recognition, as announced Tuesday by the league’s sports information directors.
Wilson posted a .667 batting average in three games over the weekend to help the Wildcats seize control of the Northwest Conference title race. In addition to his .833 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage, he also racked up five stolen bases and was nearly flawless defensively, registering a .955 fielding percentage in 22 total chances.
For the season, Wilson ranks first in the conference in batting average (.481) and also has a .556 slugging percentage and a .517 on-base percentage.
This is the first weekly honor of his career, and the third by a Linfield baseball this season.
As a club, the No. 9 Wildcats lead the league in team batting average (.314) and pitching (2.76 ERA).
