McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Kevin Allan has become Linfield’s first recipient of the Northwest Conference Baseball Offensive/Field Student-Athlete of the Week award. The honor was announced Tuesday by the league’s sports information directors.
Allan had two multiple-hit games over the weekend to help No. 9 Linfield earn a pair of wins over Pacific. In the second game of the series, he hit 3-for-4 with two doubles. Over three games, he posted a .545 batting average, .727 slugging percentage and .583 on-base percentage. He also recorded a .947 fielding percentage over 16 chances.
For the season, he boasts a .343 batting average, including a .457 slugging percentage, and a .410 on-base percentage. His 12 hits rank third on the team.
This is the first career weekly honor for Allan, who plays at shortstop for the 'Cats.
NEXT: Allan and the rest of the Wildcats are gearing up for Linfield’s second conference series of the year. The team takes on Willamette in a doubleheader Saturday at noon and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.
