Wet weather continues to wreak havoc on the Linfield softball schedule.
The Wildcats have relocated both their upcoming weekend Northwest Conference series to new sites.
Saturday, the Wildcats were to have hosted George Fox at the Linfield diamond, but soggy conditions in the outfield have resulted in a site swap with the Bruins. The teams are scheduled to play their NWC doubleheader at noon Saturday at Morse Athletic Field.
To complete the four-game series, Linfield will now host George Fox on March 26. Those contests had been originally slated for the Bruins’ home field.
Sunday’s doubleheader at Lewis & Clark was also relocated due to poor conditions on the Pioneers’ home field. The teams are now scheduled to meet at noon Sunday at Rosemont Middle School in West Linn.
The Wildcats and Pioneers will be playing the first games at West Linn’s home field since an artificial surface was installed.
With no home games slated until March 26, Linfield will effectively go an entire month without hosting a game. The Wildcats played their only home contests of the young season Feb. 26 against Whitworth.
