McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Linfield baseball team is once again a team to be reckoned with, according to a preseason poll by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and d3baseball.com. The poll was released Thursday.
The No. 8 Wildcats are the only team from the Northwest Conference to appear in the poll, and are ranked one spot above national defending champions Illinois Wesleyan.
Last year’s club finished third in the NCAA Division III Championship. Along the way, the team won a school-record 37 games and captured the NWC and West Region crowns.
Linfield opens the season on the road, competing in the Arizona Classic Feb. 10-13. The home opener is slated for Feb. 26 against Oregon Tech.
