McMINNVILLE, Ore. – After a phenomenal weekend, K.C. Wiser has been honored as the Northwest Conference Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league’s sports information directors Tuesday.
Friday night, Wiser registered the highest scoring output in 10 years at Linfield, tallying a career-high 39 points in a thrilling double-overtime win over Pacific. He hit two clutch 3-pointers to send the game to overtime and double overtime, and tipped in the game-winning bucket with 1.5 seconds remaining. He also hauled in 15 rebounds, matching a career high.
Wiser followed up that performance with a 16-point effort in another overtime victory at Puget Sound at home Saturday night. He nearly had another double-double, pulling down nine rebounds.
On the week, Wiser averaged 27.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 block per game. He shot 19-of-30 (.633) from the floor, 5-of-10 (.500) from beyond the arc and 12-of-14 (.857) from the charity stripe.
For the season, he leads the conference in scoring (22.8 points per game) and ranks second in rebounding (8.5) and third in field goal percentage (.587).
This is the second weekly honor for the senior, and the fourth of his career.
