McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield’s Zach Boskovich has been named to the 2011 preseason All-American team by d3baseball.com.
Boskovich, an outfielder, was a first-team all-Northwest Conference selection in 2010 and was a second team All-America selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Last season, he hit .407 while setting a school record for most home runs in a single season with 17. As a team, the Wildcats came within two victories of winning the national championship.
He is one of two student-athletes from the NWC to make the team, along with Willamette’s Mitchell Rowan.
Linfield was ranked No. 12 by College Baseball Newspaper's preseason poll. The ‘Cats open the 2011 campaign in Arizona for the Arizona Classic, facing off against La Verne, Concordia (Texas), Cal Lutheran and Texas-Dallas. The team’s home opener is Feb. 26 against Oregon Tech.
