Turnovers haunt Wildcats

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Ben Wilson scored 19 points off the bench and Evergreen State forced 29 Linfield turnovers as the Geoducks topped the ‘Cats 78-63 Saturday night at Greenhouse Arena.

Evergreen State improves to 7-4 on the season while Linfield drops 1-6.

For the second-straight game turnovers were the story of the night for the Wildcats. Linfield struggled at the charity stripe, knocking down just 10-of-19 attempts.

Trailing 32-31 at the half, the Geoducks outscored the Wildcats 47-31 over the final 20 minutes. After shooting just 43 percent from the floor in the first half, Evergreen State knocked down 54 percent of its shots in the second half.

Nathan Menefee scored 18 points and Anthony Gallagher added 13 for the Geoducks.

Cody Tesoro (Sr., Kahului, Hawaii) scored a team-high 16 points for the Wildcats and Zach Anderson (Fr., Carlton, Ore.) came off the bench to tally 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

NEXT: Linfield picks up action next Sunday when the ‘Cats take on host Simpson College at 5:30 p.m.
