McMINNVILLE, Ore. - In a match where offense was scarce, Jasem Jaihouni’s goal in the 79th minute lifted Pacific to a 1-0 win over Linfield Saturday afternoon at the Linfield Soccer Field.

The win lifts the Boxers to 11-2-1 overall and 7-1-1 in Northwest Conference play. The Wildcats slide to 5-8-1 on the season and 4-5 in the NWC.

With an upset-minded Linfield team playing some of its best soccer of the season, Pacific slipped the rug out from under the hosts in the final minutes. A Jorge Mandujano crossing pass slipped through the Linfield defense, allowing Jaihouni to knife into the box for the score.

Linfield had a golden opportunity in the 73rd minute when Travis Isaacs found himself with a one-on-one opportunity with Pacific goalkeeper Andrew Stevermer. Isaacs punished a shot to Stevermer right, but it was denied by the right foot of Stevermer.

The Wildcats outshot the Boxers 13-7. Michel Camacho led the ‘Cats with four shot attempts.

NEXT: Linfield returns to action Saturday when the ‘Cats travel to Pacific Lutheran for a 2:30 game.
