The victory improved the Wildcats record to 5-0 in the conference. George Fox, competing with just four players, dropped to 0-5 in the NWC.
Wildcats sophomore Tal DeWitt (Jr., Battle Ground, Wash.) recorded the most decisive singles victory, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Ross Budreau at No. 4. The closest singles pairing was at No. 3, where Kyle Anderson (Sr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) had to fend off the Bruins’ Stefan Lagielski 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 at No. 2. Other singles winners included Nick Ruess at No. 1, and Ward Van Mens at No. 3.
George Fox forfeited the two lowest flights due to the shortage of available players.
In doubles play, Walt James and Brent Kingzett (Jr., Eugene, Ore.) posted an 8-1 win over Lagielski and partner Ralf Schulz at No. 1. Luke Rembold paired with Mark Magdaong (Jr., Lahaina, Hawaii) for an 8-5 decision over Barnett and Budreau. The Bruins defaulted the third flight.
