Boxers send Wildcats home empty handed
Box Score
FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Halee Helgerson (Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.) equaled a season-high with three goals but Linfield had few other answers for Pacific, which outscored the visiting Wildcats 18-4 Friday night at Lincoln Park Stadium.

Shelby Duarte (Jr., San Ramon, Calif.), Linfield's leading scorer, was held without a goal in the first half as the Boxers build a 12-3 advantage. Duarte's goal at the 5:36 mark of the second period was the Wildcats' lone point after the intermission.

Pacific opened the match with three consecutive goals in the first five minutes before Helgerson scored unassisted with 9½ minutes gone to make it a 3-1 affair.

From there, the Boxers reeled off four more goals before Helgerson scored consecutively in a three-minute span. Pacific put the pedal to the metal by pumping in five unanswered goals before the break, including Melanie Niehus' tally with two seconds remaining before the buzzer.

Pacific outshot Linfield 34-14. Wildcats goalkeeper Erika Phillipo (So., Eugene, Ore.) made nine saves in net.

NEXT: Linfield concludes its season Monday night at home with a 4:30 p.m. match against Loras (Iowa).
