Fisher repeats as Academic All-American
Complete Academic All-America Team
Capping off four all-around phenomenal years as a Linfield student-athlete, Nick Fisher (Sr., Lake Oswego, Ore.) was a repeat selection to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America Division III Baseball Team, as announced via news release Wednesday, one day after the championship game of the NCAA Finals.

Fisher graduated this spring with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, compiling a 3.86 grade point average through the end of the fall semester. He was one of two repeat selections to the 11-member All-America first team, which includes two graduate students, seven seniors and two juniors with an average GPA of 3.87.

For Fisher, who also completed requirements for a minor in physics, future academic plans include graduate studies in aerospace engineering.

On the field, Fisher garnered Northwest Conference Player of the Year, first team All-West Region and McMinnville Regional Most Outstanding Player honors while leading the Wildcats to a second consecutive NWC Championship, regional tournament title and NCAA Finals appearance.

Linfield's co-captain hit .331 with 44 runs scored, 37 RBI and amassed a .608 slugging percentage that included 17 doubles, three triples and nine home runs. Fisher also drew 28 walks, was defensively perfect in right field, stole a team-high 12 bases and finished as the program leader in career triples (9).

Fisher is just the second Linfield baseball student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American in the NCAA era, joining Cole Bixenman '11, but the first to earn the honor twice. The Capital One Academic All-America teams for NCAA Division III were nominated, selected and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
