EUGENE, Ore. – Going head to head with some of the Northwest's most elite competition, Linfield's small contingent at the University of Oregon's historic Hayward Field posted close to season bests Friday evening at the Oregon Twilight.

Ellie Schmidt (Jr., Dundee, Ore.) placed fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.82) and third in Section B of the open 200 (25.78). Both marks were less than three-tenths of a second off her Linfield Top 10 standards, achieved earlier this season.

Maxing out on her first toss of the day, Courtney Alley (Sr., Eagle, Idaho) took fifth in the shot at 36 feet, 11 ½ inches (11.26 meters).

Jake Mihelich (Fr., Surprise. Arizona) clocked in at 49.08 seconds in the 400 meters, placing fourth.

Kennedy Johnson (Fr., Gresham, Ore.) was about three inches off his career-best leap as runner-up in the triple jump at 45 feet, 10 inches (13.97m).

AHEAD: Linfield's full team is in competition Saturday at the Linfield Open. The Wildcats' final home meet of the season gets underway at 10 a.m. at Maxwell Field.
