'Cats get three wins at Pacific Twilight
FOREST GROVE, ORE. – Coming off strong showings at the Northwest Conference Championships, all three of Linfield's recently crowned individual titlists posted top-three finishes, including two victories, to pace the Wildcats at the two-day Pacific Twilight, which wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Park Stadium.
Winning the first heat of the 100-meter hurdles by two-tenths of a second, Dallas Edge (Sr., Gig Harbor, Wash.) also finished with the top overall time (14.73) while Jake Mihelich (Sr., Fort Collins, Colo.) won the open 400 in 49.55 seconds. Kennedy Johnson took third in the triple jump, leaping 45 feet, 5 inches (13.84 meters).
In the open sprints, Ellie Schmidt was runner-up in the 200 (25.91) and took fourth in the 100 (12.60).
Friday evening, Katie Skinner won the 3,000-meter steeplechase by a full 15 seconds, clocking in at 11 minutes, 52.04 seconds. Teammate Siena Noe posted a top-three finish in the 5K (18:14.78).
Kate Shear was runner-up in the javelin off her first and best toss of 131 feet even (39.92 meters). On the men's side, Morgunn Ewing threw 181 feet (55.17m) to place third.

In other field event action, Steven Holland tied for third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6 feet, ¾ inch (1.85m).
COMING UP: The Wildcats welcome competitors to Maxwell Field for the Linfield Open Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. A handful of ‘Cats have gained entry into the Oregon Twilight, hosted in Eugene Friday evening.
