PORTLAND, Ore. – After steadily moving up the Linfield Top 10 list in her first three meets, Dallas Edge (Fr., Gig Harbor, Wash.) got over the final hurdle, both literally and figuratively speaking, in record time her fourth time on the race track, winning the 100-meter hurdles in school record time Saturday afternoon at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open, held at the Eldon Fix Track.

Edge bettered the previous all-time performance, held for 13 years by Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame inductee and former All-American Amber Larsen, by 12 hundredths of a second, clocking in at 14.74 seconds. The freshman also took third in the open 100 (12.98) and was a member of both of Linfield's winning relay teams. Edge's performance also ranks as the second best in Division III this year.

Collectively, the Wildcat women totaled 127 points to win the 14-team meet, outpacing NCAA Division II program St. Martins by 19 points. Linfield's men, meanwhile, placed second among 18 teams, scoring 81 points.

Edge was not the only Wildcat to register a Top 10 performance at one of the largest meets of the season. Rachael Gernhart (So., Portland, Ore.) moved from fourth to third in the triple jump, while Nick Fairhart (Jr., Morton, Wash.) cracked into the all-time list for the first time in the hammer throw.

Gernhart registered a maximum leap of 36 feet, 5 inches (11.10 meters), 5½ inches better than her previous best, in a winning effort. Fairhart placed fifth in the hammer with a best throw of 172 feet, 3 inches (52.51m).

Ellie Schmidt (Jr., Dundee, Ore.) provided another first-place showing in the 200 (26.23) and also took second in the 400 (59.64). Both times were career bests, second fastest among Northwest Conference competitors this spring and less than a tenth of a second away from landing her on the Top 10 list.

Edge, Gernhart, Schmidt and Haley Pattishal (Fr., McMinville, Ore.)l teamed for wins in the 4x100 (49.73) and 4x400 (4:05.59) in season-best times.

Anna LaBeaume (Sr., Sequim, Wash.) placed second in the shot put with a best toss of 40 feet, 6¼ inches (12.35 meters).
