Finishing her career as Linfield's third all-time leading scorer and rebounder, Kaely Maltman added another honor to her resume with her selection to the All-Northwest Conference Women's Basketball Second Team, as announced Tuesday by the league office following a vote of the conference's nine head coaches.
Maltman was the league leader in field goal percentage (57.9) and assists per game (4.0) while also ranking second in rebounds (9.1), third in blocks (27), fifth in total points (389), sixth in steals (36) and seventh in points per game (15.6). Among NCAA Division III leaders, she ranked 12th in field goal percentage.
This marks the first second team selection for Maltman, who received honorable mention consideration as a freshman and as a junior.
She concluded her career as the third all-time leading scorer (1,265) and rebounder (660) and became just the third player in program history to total 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. The four-year starter finished as the program's all-time leader in free throws made (329) and attempted (576) and minutes played (3,222). Maltman also registered the third highest field goal percentage – sinking 53.4 percent of her looks at the basket – and the sixth highest scoring average at 13.2 points per game.
In her final three games, she recorded the second-highest single-game rebound total (21), 11th career 20-point performance and 15th career double-double.
Winning two of its final three games, the Wildcats finished two positions higher in the final Northwest Conference standings than they did a year ago, taking sixth with a 5-11 league record and 9-16 overall win-loss mark.
