Owing to its lengthy record of sustained success, the Linfield College football program is profiled in a cover story as part of the January issue of Coach and Athletic Director magazine.

In the magazine, Linfield is described as "the most consistent team in America."

Granted open behind-the-scenes access during the late portion of the 2011 season, magazine editor Michael Austin spotlights Linfield’s weekly preparation methods and game-coaching practices in the leadoff story of an 11-page suite of articles titled “Playing to Personnel’s Strengths Proves Successful, Consistent.”

The reasons for Linfield’s remarkable record of 56 consecutive winning seasons is among the topics covered in the multi-story package. The magazine also contains sidebars discussing the football program’s stated ethos of “Team, Attitude, Excellence and Class,” the impetus for the college’s 2004 upgrade of Maxwell Field, and a step-by-step timeline through the Wildcats’ preparations for the 2011 conference title game. In addition, former Wildcats All-America quarterback and current quarterbacks coach Brett Elliott authored a one-page piece on Linfield's “Alley” passing scheme.

“I truly believe it's one of the best program overviews we've ever done,” said Austin, citing the unfettered access granted by the coaching staff while researching the package.

The specialty publication’s subscriber base of 35,000 is comprised primarily of high school and college coaches and athletics administrators.

Quarterback Mickey Inns, who passed for 31 touchdowns and more than 2,800 yards in leading Linfield to a 10-1 record, is pictured on the magazine’s cover.
