Biography

Jackson Vaughan is in his seventh season as defensive coordinator and 17th on the coaching staff. He will oversee the linebackers this fall after previously overseeing the defensive and offensive lines.

He directs a defense that has led the Northwest Conference in rushing defense seven times and sacks eight times over the last 11 years.

His responsibilities include supervision of the team's equipment operations, as well as coordinating all spring on-campus recruiting visits.

Vaughan received a bachelor's degree from Linfield in 1997. He participated in football for one year before suffering a career-ending injury. As a student, he was involved with the campus radio station, broadcasting Linfield football and basketball games as a sophomore. He joined the coaching staff as a junior.

Vaughan is also Linfield's head softball coach, where he has assembled an 410-93-1 record in 11 seasons. He has been named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year eight times and West Region Coach of the Year six times, guiding Linfield to nine straight league titles and the 2007 and 2011 NCAA Division III national championships.

A native of Hereford, Ore., Vaughan received his diploma from Baker High School where he was the Greater Oregon League Defensive Player of the Year in 1993.

He and his wife, Shelly, live in McMinnville, with their daughter, Hallie.
