Boustead begins his first season as an assistant coach at Linfield, assuming primary responsibilities for the junior varsity program.
The former outfielder played four seasons of baseball for the Wildcats, starting his career with the junior varsity team before moving up to the varsity squad on a full-time basis. As a senior, he hit a career-high .306 while scoring 14 times, driving in five runs and stealing eight bases.
A three-sport athlete at nearby Dallas High School, Boustead won eight varsity letters in baseball, basketball and track, earning honorable mention all-conference consideration in baseball and first team recognition as a punter in football. He was the third brother from the Boustead family to attend Linfield and play baseball, following older brothers Grant (’05) and Jordan (’08).
Boustead graduated from Linfield in the spring of 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing, and is now pursuing a master’s degree in education in the hopes of becoming a teacher.
