Biography
Second-year assistant coach Eric McClellan brings a wealth of experience, both playing and coaching, to his position at Linfield.
A member of the Virginia Tech University Sports Hall of Fame, McClellan is the Hokies’ all-time leading goal scorer and was a four-time all-Metro Conference and three-time All-South Atlantic Region performer. He then played eight years in the professional leagues, winning two National Indoor USISL Championships.
McClellan has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the youth, collegiate and adult levels. His Portland-based Kells FC Men’s Over 30 club won three league titles and once advanced to the national championship game. Most recently, he headed the men’s soccer program at Tualatin High School, where he was a three-time conference coach of the year. McClellan also coaches the Westside Timbers TS U12 club team, which includes his two daughters.
He and his wife, Lisa, live in Wilsonville with their three active children: Madison, Jaiden and Donovan.
