Jim Ray is in his 38th year as an assistant coach for the Wildcats. His primary responsibility is supervising the outfielders. Ray instructs the 'Cats in their base-running fundamentals and is the coordinator of the baseball strength and conditioning program. He has been instrumental in organizing fund raising efforts which make it possible for the Wildcats to fund their spring road trip to Southern California.
Ray graduated from Westminster High School in Los Angeles, Calif., and attended Washington State University before transferring to Linfield. He concluded his collegiate career under former head coach Ad Rutschman.
While playing at Linfield, Ray was named to the Northwest Conference all-star team as a senior. Ray has been involved in semi-pro baseball both as a player and a coach. He was selected to numerous all-star teams and was voted the MVP of the Canadian International Baseball Tournament in Kamloops, B.C.
