Scott Carnahan began his second tenure as Linfield head baseball coach at the conclusion of the 2015 season. He previously was head coach for 24 seasons before stepping into the role of pitching coach for eight seasons under his former player, Scott Brosius.
During his first run as head coach from 1984 until 2007, Carnahan's teams won 11 Northwest Conference championships and finished second on six other occasions. His teams won five straight NWC championships between 1992 and 1996. He was named NWC Coach of the Year 11 times and NAIA District 2 Coach of the Year three times.
Carnahan owns a career coaching record of 562-377-2 at Linfield and 727-447-2 overall.
Carnahan is his 20th year as director of athletics at Linfield. Under his guidance, Linfield has been awarded the McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy, honoring the top overall athletics program in the NWC, three times. He has overseen major upgrades to the football/track, tennis, softball, baseball, and soccer venues.
