FROM THE DESK
OF This correspondence, however, is one of a much more personal nature. During the past 24 years, I have been the head baseball coach at Linfield. And during that time I have enjoyed immensely my association with over 500 student-athletes whom I have coached. Over the past couple of years, I have found that it has become a struggle to balance my time and energy effectively on both positions. Thus, I have decided that this will be my final year as the head baseball coach at Linfield. Coaching has been a passion. For those who have coached, you know that the connection you have with your players is the most awesome part of the job. This connection continues beyond the field and is renewed each and every time you reunite with your former players. I have witnessed their growth and maturity and know that some of the lessons pertaining to success were learned through their association and participation in the Linfield baseball program. I have also been fortunate in my career to have great mentors. I learned from my coaches, administrators, colleagues, friends, and opposing coaches, but especially from my former players. I am truly thankful for the opportunity and support I have received and appreciate the great game of baseball more now than ever before. |
