First C.L.A.S.
Start your Linfield Experience right! August 17th - 22nd, 2012
First CLAS (Community, Leadership, Action & Service) is a week-long service and leadership immersion program for incoming first-year students. As a First CLAS participant, you will serve with local non-profits throughout the week, learning about important community issues, gaining valuable leadership skills, and discovering what McMinnville and Linfield have to offer. When you’re not busy serving, you will have plenty of opportunities to connect with your fellow participants, be mentored by your upperclassmen student leaders, settle into campus, and more. After the week of service, you will have the opportunity to lead other first-year students for the Taste of Service event, apply for an Alternative Spring Break program, and continue to take leadership roles on campus!
Why should you apply?
The goal of the First CLAS program is to enable those new to the Linfield community to hit the ground running. By coming to campus just six days early, you will have a unique opportunity to:
- Start making friends with other energetic first years
- Meet and be mentored by upperclassmen team leaders
- Engage in meaningful community service focused on affordable housing, sustainability, and food security
- Get introduced to resources and opportunities on campus
- Discover all the McMinnville community has to offer
- Receive top-notch leadership training rarely offered to first-year students
All before most of your peers even set foot on campus!
