Move to campus a week before orientation begins to actively learn about Community, Leadership, Action, & Service with your fellow first year students. In teams you will explore McMinnville and the Linfield campus for a weekend. You will then spend three days serving at local community organizations focusing on three core social issues: poverty, youth, and the environment! Each day will be followed by a reflection session that will help participants delve deeper into the social issue and learn more about service from varying perspectives: interfaith, multicultural, and active citizenship.
Linfield has more than 100 community partners including:
Days of Service are one-time service opportunities providing students and staff with meaningful service experiences in the McMinnville area. Through the four major service events each year Linfield students have logged hundreds of hours reading to youth, planting food crops, serving meals in soup kitchens, removing invasive species, building homes and more. Different types of projects happen at each of our events so find out more!
Linfield Students volunteer at Saturday Morning Breakfast at the Co-Op. Shifts for cooking, set up, serving, and clean up available from 7-11:30am, contact Kelly Ackerman for more information.
Spring a week serving a community here, near, or far away! Learn about an issue such as homelessness, youth, affordable housing, or sustainability. Most importantly you'll have fun and make memories while doing it!
