Scholarships for Undergraduates to Study Abroad

BENJAMIN A. GILMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Over 700 awards of up to $5,000 to undergraduates of limited financial means for study abroad. Average award $4,000. Students must be receiving Pell grants . Non-traditional abroad destinations outside of Europe encouraged. Additional awards for students studying a "critical language" such as Chinese. FREEMAN ASIA
Scholarships of up to $7,000 for students currently receiving need-based financial aid to study in Asia (including China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea). Must apply through home campus. NATIONAL SECURITY EDUCATION PROGRAM (NSEP) BOREN UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Merit-based scholarships up to $20,000 for study abroad in regions of the world critical to US interests (Africa, Asia, Central and E. Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East). Award recipient expected to work in the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, State, or the Intelligence Community. U.S. citizenship required.
