General Security Information
Linfield Campus Safety coordinates all safety and security operations on campus. LCS consists of a director, one security patrol supervisor, and 8 full-time security officers. The offices of the Safety Department are located on the south-west corner of Keck Campus Building 4.
LCS patrol persons are not armed. They conduct foot, bike, and vehicular patrols of the campus areas and residence halls 24 hours a day. In addition, an escort service is provided in the evening and night time hours. Campus Safety patrol persons enforce all college rules and regulations. McMinnville Police are called in for any arrest relating to violations of city or state laws.
LCS maintains a close working relationship with local police agencies. Local and state police agencies do not, as a practice, inform the college of criminal activity in the vicinity of the college campus. A reasonable attempt is made to be aware of any crimes occurring in the area of the campus that would pose a threat to the college community.
LCS, as well as the Residence Life Staff, enforce the ban on possession of dangerous weapons or firearms anywhere on campus.
Potential criminal actions and other campus emergencies can be reported directly by any student or staff member to LCS by dialing campus extension SAFE (7233).
As part of the programs sponsored by the Residence Life Staff sessions are offered to students on such topics as personal safety awareness and security, and the prevention of burglary and vandalism.
