Linfield's Office of Residence Life
As a result of their experience in College Housing, residents will develop skills in four areas: Living in Community, Effective Communication, Valuing Diversity, and Skills for Success and Wellness.
As a result of living in College Housing, residents will be able to:
- Understand their community’s standards and values, and consider the impact of their choices on others in a sustainable community.
- Develop skills for effective interpersonal communication and collaboration.
- Value the benefits of a community diverse in culture, ethnicity, socio-economics, sexual orientation, religion, and other identities.
- Develop skills for success and wellness in their personal and academic lives.
Extended Stay Agreement
All residents must vacate their rooms within 24 hours of their last final exam. Residents who wish to stay longer must file a fall extended stay agreement. An extended stay must be approved prior to a resident’s last final.
Winter Break Housing
College Housing will close for semester break starting Saturday, December 14. College Housing will remain closed until Sunday, January 5, when it will open to students on campus for Jan Term. All residence hall and HP Park card access will be turned off during the break. Also vacation cores will be inserted in all College Apartments denying access to apartments during the break.
Students who wish to stay on campus during this time must sign up for Break Housing. There will be a $25 per day charge to stay on campus for the break. This daily charge will be billed to your account. Students who are approved to be on campus during the break are required to carry their student ID and keys at all times. Guests MUST be escorted at all times. If you have a guest, you must meet them at the front door, and escort them to your room. When your guest leaves, you must escort them out of the building.
During this time there will be no Resident Advisors on campus. College Public Safety (CPS) will be available 24 hours a day during the break and can be reached at 503-883-7233(SAFE). A Residence Life Staff Member is on call during the break and can be reached by contacting CPS.
Dillin will be closing Friday, December 13 after lunch and Starbucks will be closing at 3 on the same day. Dillin will reopen on Sunday, January 5 for dinner and Starbucks on Monday the 6th.
The Student Health, Wellness, and Counseling center will also be closed for semester break. If you need non-emergency medical care during the break, you may call Physicians Medical Center at 503-472-6161 between 8:00-5:30 Monday thru Friday and 8:30-12:00 on Saturday. After hours please call 1-877-820-1307 and ask to leave a message for the on call doctor for Physicians Medical Center Family Practice. Please identify yourself as a Linfield Student to the on call doctor when they return your call.

Residence Life is looking for applicants for the 2014-2015 Resident Advisor staff. An application process will be held during both January term and Spring Term. Applications will be avaliable on Cat Connect begining January 6th, 2014.
