Politics of Russia and Other Former Soviet States - This course examines the countries of the former Soviet Union, focusing mainly on Russia. We will cover domestic politics as well as the foreign policies of these countries. We compare Russia and the other post-Soviet states in terms of their political trajectories over the past 25 years in terms of democratization, national identity construction, opposition movements and human rights, and relations with other states in the region and in the world.
