| Description: | Concepts in animal behavior at multiple levels ofbiological organization. Perspectives range fromgenetic and neurophysiological underpinnings ofbehavior to the resulting behavioral interactionsof animals with their environment and otherorganisms. Topics include behavioral genetics,hormones and behavior, mating behavior,parent-offspring interactions, habitat selection,navigation, foraging, self defense, communication,learning, sociality, and behavior andconservation. Laboratory includes experimentalhypothesis testing in the field and lab; datacollection, analysis, and presentation; and agrant proposal. $50 lab fee.Prerequisites: 210/211, and junior standing.4 credits (MWI) |
