The evening is free and open to the public.
The performance will mark the culmination of Bierly's Linfield education. He will graduate in June with a bachelor's degree in music performance.
Bierly, a tenor, has been an active student in the Linfield Music Department. He participated in vocal workshops under Dale Moore and Mark Beudert and competed in scholarship competitions including NATS, where he placed first in the College I Male category in 2000. He participated in Linfield's Opera Workshop, appearing in excerpts from "The Marriage of Figaro," "Don Giovanni," "The Abduction from the Seraglio," "Falstaff," "La Traviata" and "The Bartered Bride." He also appeared in "H.M.S. Pinafore" at the Gallery Theatre in McMinnville and was a member of the Linfield Concert Choir. In addition, Bierly participated in a collaborative research project with Greg Bowers, assistant professor of music, comparing technology of the organ in Jonasson Hall to that of the new music and technology lab. This fall, Bierly will take French and Italian classes in preparation for his graduate work.
A reception will be held in Jonasson Hall, lower level of Melrose Hall, after the performance. For more information, call the Linfield Music Department at 503-883-2275.
