More than a dozen advanced piano students, all music majors or minors, will perform diverse works ranging from the Baroque period to present day.
In addition to giving students a valuable performance experience, the annual concert is a "gift to the community," according to Jill Timmons, professor of music, who instructs the students along with Rhonda Ringering, adjunct professor of piano.
"I want my students to have a lot of performing experiences, but I also want them to understand that what we do first and foremost as musicians is service," said Timmons. "Students don't do this for credit or money. They do it for all the best reasons."
The performance is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Linfield Music Department at 503-883-2275.
