9/7/2007 Linfield theatre kicks off season
McMINNVILLE ? Linfield College students will open the theatrical season with the annual student Icebreaker.
Performances will be held Sept. 20-22 at 8 p.m. in the Marshall Theatre in Kenneth W. Ford Hall. A special midnight peformance will also be presented Friday, Sept. 21. The theatre will open 45 minutes early each night with pre-show music, games, and entertainment.
Following last year?s success, students will present another selection of 30 Neo-Futurist Plays from "Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind" created by Greg Allen and written by The Neo-Futurists. Theatre major Zane Johnston will direct an ensemble of actors and one emcee who will perform 30 plays in 60 minutes in an order determined by the audience. Each play will reflect the collective?s goal of fusing sport, poetry and living newspaper. The play contains mature language and subject matter.
Tickets for the performances will range from $4 to $6 and will be determined by the roll of a die at the door. Pizza will be ordered for any sold-out performance. There will be no advance ticket sales. The box office will open one hour before show time. Seating is general admission.
To reach Ford Hall from Highway 99W, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center in south McMinnville. Turn right on Lever Street and right again on Ford Drive. Ford Hall is located at the west end of the parking lot.
