8/23/2007 Nagy exhibit to kick off Linfield art schedule

McMINNVILLE ? An installation by Portland artist Jenene Nagy, ?False Flat,? will kick off the fall gallery schedule at Linfield College.

Nagy?s work will be on display Aug. 29 through Sept. 28 in the Linfield College Fine Art Gallery located in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center at Linfield. An artist?s reception will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. in the gallery.

Nagy is director and co-curator of Tilt Gallery and Project Space in Portland. She was artist-in-residence at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2006. She is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Clark College. She holds a BFA from the University of Arizona and an MFA from the University of Oregon.

Her work involves the exploration of landscape and constructed space. She is interested in how flat, two-dimensional information like maps can be used to describe three-dimensional space.

To reach the gallery from 99W, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center in south McMinnville. Turn right at the first street onto Library Court.
